Art Beyond the Lifespan: The ETC & Collective Trauma

Friday May 1, 2025

9:00am-4:00pm

6 CEU’s

$150 Early Bird Registration before April 24th, $200 regular price

In the current political and social climate, collective trauma is all too real and deeply felt by both therapists and our clients. Through integrated use of the Expressive Therapies Continuum, we will explore how to both understand and heal collective trauma as individuals and within

relational spaces, and how to use ETC levels to support grounding, externalizing, and containment for our clients. Discussion of ethical and multicultural considerations for the use of materials, space, and themes in art therapy practice will occur through case studies and participant sharing.

Learning Objectives

1. Participants will be able to understand and recognize the impact of collective trauma on human development and relational systems.

2. Participants will explore the integration of the Expressive Therapies Continuum as a trauma recovery tool and cross-level application through hands-on experiential activities.

3. Participants will explore related ethical issues and cultural considerations from various vantage points within the field, and how to apply the ATCB standards of practice and other related ethical codes.
